A kick-off event where students and faculty gather over dinner and connect across research seminars. If you are interested in the environment, food, farming, climate change, renewable energy, or community building, or you want to meet people from other seminars, you are very welcome. Let’s use the Weeks as a chance to find people to think and act with!

“Thinking from COP31: The Future of Japan’s Climate Policy and Diplomacy.” How do global climate negotiations connect with Japan’s policies and local initiatives?

「COP31から考える、日本の気候変動政策と外交のこれから」世界の気候変動交渉と、日本の政策や地域での取り組みは、どうつながっているのでしょうか。

In Part 1, experts and practitioners explain the key issues at COP31, climate diplomacy, and how international negotiations relate to domestic policy. In Part 2, speakers from government, research, and youth discuss the leadership Japan can show. Join us in thinking about climate action that connects the international community and local regions.

第1部では、専門家・実務者からCOP31の論点や気候変動外交、国際交渉と国内政策の関係を学びます。第2部では、行政・研究者・ユースの立場から、日本が発揮できるリーダーシップを議論します。国際社会と地域をつなぐ、これからの気候変動アクションを一緒に考えませんか。

Make the origin of ingredients and producers’ stories part of how you choose food! Vegetables carefully grown by organic farmers around the campus will be used generously in limited-time special dishes at Café Ladybird. Look out for the story of each farmer!

The culmination of learning about agriculture and food. We will use rice after the harvest to make and eat omusubi.
